Christmas lights bring festive cheer to the community of Brampton Village

Introducing a connectable lighting system with a difference: you choose the power

The Brampton Events Group, a local community group based in Brampton Village, Cambridgeshire, organise a variety of events for the people of Brampton Village throughout the year. The group wanted to create a Christmas lighting event as a way to bring the community of Brampton together over the festive period. Vhari Russell, founder of the Food Marketing Expert, and a member of the Brampton Events Group, said, “With so much development work being undertaken around the village, we felt it was really important to support this community event and spread some festive cheer.”

It is believed that the village green had not been decorated with festive lights in over 45 years, so it was crucial that the organisers were able to achieve this for the residents of Brampton. The group contacted local businesses to ask for their financial support in order to purchase the lights and, thanks to their pledges, were able to raise £4,500 for the cause. The group’s efforts and details about the event were even featured in the local press.

The vision was to create a warm, elegant lighting display on the trees on the village green and, after researching a number of companies that could realise this vision, Festive Lights came out as the best choice. Having never undertaken such a daunting lighting project before, the group asked the Festive Lights team for advice on which lights would be best suited to the specific challenges presented by the installation.

With restricted access to a mains power supply, we provided lights from our brand new, multi-power source, connectable range – ConnectGo. Being able to connect multiple lit lengths together, whilst offering the flexibility of battery power, was exactly the solution that was needed to bring the display to light.

The Christmas lighting event took place on the 26th November and was deemed an overwhelming success by both the organisers and the people of Brampton Village. It featured festive food, including a hog roast and mince pies, whilst the Wyton & Brampton Military Wives Choir sang carols to the 2,000 strong crowd.

When reflecting on the lights and the service provided by Festive Lights, event organiser Vhari Russell commented, “We were very happy with the service, ordering process, delivery, and quality of the products.” Adding, “We were new to Festive Lights, but have recommended them lots since using them.”

The group are now looking to raise funds for more lights and to build on the switch on event of last year to add more stalls and activities.
